Plaza de Magdalena, San Juan Capistrano

We were so thrilled to have the opportunity to plan and design a Styled Shoot for one of Southern Orange County’s newest venues, Plaza De Magdalena! Plaza de Magdalena is a perfect venue for those looking for both an outdoor courtyard space, along with an indoor ballroom. The indoor ballroom is equipped with custom uplighting and dance lighting, along with built in audio and video equipment. The indoor space also has an amazing natural stone wall, which could even be a perfect backdrop for an indoor ceremony, as an alternate option to the courtyard.

The venue is set in the beautiful Los Rios District, just near The Mission in San Juan Capistrano. The surrounding area lends the perfect setting for classic photos for your wedding day. Full Spectrum Photography did an amazing job capturing photos of some of the best spots just steps from the venue.

The natural stone wall is one of my favorite elements of this venue, and thus provided the main inspiration for this shoot. While the venue is based in San Juan Capistrano, a city which generally resembles Spanish architecture, the beauty of the wall took me back to my time in Greece. I wanted this shoot to feel like an escape to a quaint village in Greece, complete with Mediterranean inspired appetizers, a Grecian inspired gown, and a fresh and natural feel with all the florals and decor.
